And the Grind Begins - A moment of gratitude

Some of you may have come across this  particular shot on my facebook page, and yes that was my graduation day almost three weeks ago.

So I am finally done with my pursuit for this Honours degree I have been at for many moons now.
It got hectic many are times, tears were shed time and again, joy came in plenty mornings, galore of friendships were born and natured, maturity was observed.

ALL IN ALL GRACE AND FAVOR CHASED MY FOOTSTEPS

On this very special day I decided to be a bride once again hence my one piece suit was best fitted WHITE.
I wanted a clean look and to achieve this I toned down my make up and hair.

Make up by yours truly
Hair by my favourite co-stylist (Dee-Kay)
THE OUTFIT BEFORE I LEFT FOR THE CEREMONY
BACK VIEW
Ready to take on the corporate world I was.
It was such a joyous occassion after so many years of work, 1994-2012 now that was long.
That should explain why I could not help but grin the whole time after being awarded my degree.

Done and tossed so could finally do what I love..pose for a few shots after the ceremony.
Well by now, after all the hugs, throwing of hats and hugs, you should be more understanding as to why
my hair is a bit unkept when compared to the morning.

Oh and guess who travelled all the way to share in such jubilee..It was special having both of them there
There was so much love going around from them and all our friends that day
Looking all sharp...my two favourite boys of all times. My ex-hubby and MY FOREVER HUBBY.
Papa Bear, Mama Bear and Baby Bear (inside the black container)

Now that this chapter is sealed I am just here waiting to see how life unfolds and ready to embrace.
In the mean time I will keep dreaming bearing in mind that:

Off to play..! Girls night out

So the girls and I just decided to hit the cinema together after all of us where done with exams. It had been a minute since we spoilt ourselves to a well deserved treat. Playing then was "what to expect when expecting" am not very highly opninionated when it comes to movies as I believe I give rubbish movie reviews but I just gotta say whatever the case be, according to me, great movie this was. It was fun and relaxing and educating in the process.. left me dreading pregnancy but refreshed after so much laughter at the cinema. I think its a movie I'd watch twice.

Because I certainly am in my season of enjoying patterns, I pulled out on that relaxed evening a loose fitted playsuit and finished it off with a lil blazer to block the wind away. Just before we got into the cinema, managed to get a few sunset shots outside the mall we went to.

It's a shame we did not do a proper group photo as Jackie and Dee-kay are missing on this girls night out pic.

Fun night at the movies it was. Until next allow me to love you and leave you.

Simplicity seasoned with winter flair!

I did mention that prints have brought life to the winter or colder seasons..! Gone are the days of dull cold days. This is not an expressive post but one which will share how I wore my tribal inspired woolen winter mini different for two separate occassions at different temperatures on the same day.

Earlier on this day I was rushing to the mall to make quick final buy of the things my Salfordian girls and I needed for the planned suprise picnic for one of us who was getting married. She is already two weeks into marriage now. Congratulations once again my sweethearts. Blessing to both you and your prince charming. We love you!

Our lovely (then) bride to be after the make-up and styling trial she did with me. Well I couldn't attend the wedding as it was in Botswana, whilst I was here in Manny, so did not do her final day make-up but we could play prior to the day and test how comfortable she'd be with it as she is preferably a natural babe. I must add that it was fun and we snapped awaa few fun pics that came handy during the pamper the bride session and she loved it.
It was a sunny yet very cold day (typical confused weather) so I rocked a woolen short skirt with tights and a coat. Of course I couldn't forget a pair of shades with that kind'a sun. on the way to the shops. I stole a moment to pose for a few shots and was worth it..!

Now that you saw how the me from the earlier part of the day looked like, came the picnic time. The theme was to simply to be bright in different colours of our choice. So because navy was simply not bright at all.. I lost the coat and threw in a white mini blazer. Also changed my pair of shades to complement the change. This was my version of bright and also to match the now warmed up weather. It was major fun and the day was successful and our friend was happy so were we.

The subtle print on print

Goodness gracious me the last post has attracted so much attention and feedback from a wide range of  viewers and blog followers. I should make it clear though, following one feedback that made it come to my attention that I may have swayed a number of minds to think that the Aztec prints are African. If it did not already come out clear to you, I simply said the likes of the prints currently commonly known as the AZTEC prints globally is a common print in many African communities. The Aztec themselves are a Mexican tribe and for those of you who know this already, Mexicans are fond of and identify with patterns too. To be entirely honest really, many native tribes are, as there are really some prints which are Jamican inspired for instance and many other more.

However as an African myself, I took a moment of pride to recognise our feature as Africans on what should simply be termed a tribal season period, but commonly interchanged as the Aztec season, whereas the inspiration was sought not only from the Aztec tribe alone, but many other native tribes, African tribes inclusive in the lot. Hence my patriotic direction in the post. No offence intended at any tribe not mentioned and certainly not wishing to disturb the peace of any of the readers of the posts.

That aside and hopefully all clarity and correction made, I should think this is still very fresh in your minds as I did promise that you will be seeing it on the next post:

Truth be told I did not plan for this outfit as a post, so this was no speacial shoot. it had been a lazy Sunday afternoon just after church, when a few friends of ours from Uni invited us for an unplanned for barbeque, given that the weather was on a good behaviour that day, not entirely hot but not too cold either. So in a period of less than 30 minutes I had to come up with an outfit that was relaxed but off course being me, not too plain either. I like statements, I identify with statements. By that I mean I love it when my mood is reflected in what am wearing. Textile, colour, accessories, they all matter to this young Mrs right here. That's not to say that is all that matter as I would love to believe am not that shallow either.

Anyway on that given day this which you see above is what I resorted for. I do not have many pictures from that day as could not be a terrible visitor and get swamped in snapping shots. Again the available open space in which lighting was poor was also limited hence the rubbish bin that keeps popping at the back on attempt to achieve full body capture.

So in this outfit attention if you pay careful attention I wore:
  •   snake skin inspired mini skirt (worn with tights because was kind of cold & I find it modest)
  •   martenity fitted polka chiffon top
  •   Cream synthetic leather gladiator inspired heeled boots
  •   Boyfriend hat(bought on the male section as a matter of fact) accesorised with one of my         hairbands to match the colour mood
  •   Accesories in Gold (bracelets and earings) and Neon pink (nails and neck piece).
  •   I'd be darned to forget to mention my oh so precious peach toned suitcase inspired day bag
  •
    Happy viewing

Managed to sneak a few pics outside

Now comes some of my favourite clash in prints

in my opinion not everyone gets it right though many attempt.

Once again thank you for stopping bye lovely folks
